An agreement is signed between CocaCola India Private Limited (CCIPL) and ICAR-NRC for Grapes, Pune on 14/01/2020 for supporting quality grape production in Theni district of Tamil Nadu. ICAR-NRCG will help to implement “Project Unnati-Grapes” of CCIPL. Under this project NRCG will help in improving quality of Muscat Hamburg (Gulabi) grapes which is established grape variety in this region. Grape variety Manjari Medika (juice variety) will also be established in Theni region for quality juice making. Dr. R. G. Somkuwar, Director, ICAR-NRC for Grapes and Mr. U. N. Kini, representative of CocaCola India Private Ltd signed the agreement.
