ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune celebrated the 71st Republic day with great enthusiasm and passion. Dr. R G Somkuwar, Director, ICAR-NRCG, Pune hoisted the national flag in the early morning of 26th January, 2020. During his republic day speech, he conveyed the message of Honorable President of India to the staffs present. The event was graced with the presence of the staff members of ICAR-NRCG including the scientific, technical, administration, their family members and laborers. During his speech, he reiterated the responsibility to always adhere to the central tenets of our democracy - justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. He highlighted the contribution and the involvement of the institute in government Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan program for clean India. He also emphasized to give top priority for water conservation and water management and appealed all the members to contribute in this regard. He also gave a brief on institute contribution in last year towards various government programs.
Following the Director’s republic day speech, cultural programs were organized for children from Zilla Parishad Prathamik School, Bharavasthi and kids of institute staffs. This was followed by prize distribution to the winners of various programs conducted on institute foundation day.
