National Referral Laboratory (NRL of
ICAR-NRCG is equipped with high-end equipment and accredited by NABL under ISO
17025 and ISO 17043. NRL is recognized as National Referral Laboratory (NRL) for
the control of pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables and aflatoxins (Aflatoxin
B1,B2,G1,G2) residues in peanut and peanut produce for export facilitation by
APEDA, Ministry of Commerce. Under this scheme, the institute upgrades the Good
Agricultural Practice (GAP) for the management of pesticide residues through
Annexure 5 (List of chemicals which are having label claim for use in grape)
every year. Pre-harvest intervals (PHI) for all the Annexure 5 chemicals are
being established by this institute with respect to EU-MRL through supervised
field trails. Recommended PHI are religiously followed by growers for the
production MRL complied grapes for export.
